Less than 24 hours later, and after Guardian Australia contacted Nampijinpa Price\u2019s office with questions, her announcement was wiped from social media.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The Put Australia First rallies, organised by anti-lockdown protester Monica Smit and others associated with the \u201cfreedom\u201d movement, have been organised in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane for the end of November.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">In a now-deleted post on X, Nampijinpa Price said she was \u201chonoured\u201d to join the Sydney event, which will also feature a virtual appearance from the British far-right activist Tommy Robinson, who was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/politics\/2025\/sep\/15\/who-were-the-key-figures-at-the-unite-the-kingdom-rally-in-london\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">behind the \u201cUnite the Kingdom\u201d march<\/a> in London.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/email-newsletters?CMP=copyembed&amp;CMP=emailbutton\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sign up: AU Breaking News email<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\u201cHonoured to stand with fellow Australians who share our unyielding commitment to national sovereignty and prosperity,\u201d Nampijinpa Price wrote on X on Friday, promoting the event\u2019s poster.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\u201cOn 29 November, let\u2019s unite in Sydney to hear the voices that matter most &#8211; those of everyday Aussies demanding real change. Together, we Put Australia First.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The rallies follow similar gatherings in August in Australia, which turned violent and attracted controversy after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/australia-news\/2025\/aug\/31\/march-for-australia-neo-nazis-among-protesters-at-anti-immigration-rallies\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">being promoted and attended<\/a> by neo-Nazis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Put Australia First\u2019s rally organisers say the upcoming events are not connected to those held in August, and neo-Nazis will not be welcomed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Guardian Australia contacted Nampijinpa Price\u2019s office on Friday afternoon to ask whether she felt comfortable appearing alongside Robinson, a controversial UK figure known for his ties to fascism and anti-Islamic groups.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">On Saturday morning, a spokesperson said the senator would no longer attend due to \u201cpersonal commitments\u201d. Nampijinpa Price and her musician husband, also due to appear, have both been removed from the group\u2019s website.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">It\u2019s understood Sussan Ley\u2019s office was not informed about the Liberal backbencher\u2019s speech ahead of her announcement on Friday. A spokesperson for the opposition leader\u2019s office declined to respond when asked if the opposition leader intervened to prevent Nampijinpa Price\u2019s attendance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">While Nampijinpa Price didn\u2019t attend the August rallies, the Northern Territory Liberal senator congratulated the marchers and said the \u201cvast majority\u201d were people who \u201clove this country\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The senator said she \u201cutterly condemned those who call themselves neo-Nazis\u201d, and said they had \u201chijacked\u201d the marches.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">In an interview with the ABC days later, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/australia-news\/2025\/sep\/03\/ed-husic-anthony-albanese-jacinta-nampijinpa-price-march-for-australia-immigration-comments-ntwnfb\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nampijinpa Price falsely claimed<\/a> federal Labor was promoting migration by specific ethnic groups, namely from India, to grow its electoral support.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Indian Australians had been targeted by anti-immigration protesters in August, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/australia-news\/2025\/sep\/05\/melbourne-immigration-migrated-indians-targeted-racist-messaging-asking-why-ntwnfb\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">prompting concern<\/a> the senator\u2019s comments would further incite racism and division.<\/p>\n<p><a data-ignore=\"global-link-styling\" href=\"#EmailSignup-skip-link-17\" class=\"dcr-jzxpee\">skip past newsletter promotion<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-rsfwa\">Sign up to Breaking News Australia<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-1xjndtj\">Get the most important news as it breaks<\/p>\n<p><strong>Privacy Notice: <\/strong>Newsletters may contain information about charities, online ads, and content funded by outside parties.
