{"id":369271,"date":"2025-11-10T13:44:20","date_gmt":"2025-11-10T13:44:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/369271\/"},"modified":"2025-11-10T13:44:20","modified_gmt":"2025-11-10T13:44:20","slug":"production-crew-in-south-philadelphia-shooting-new-short-film-philly-pretzels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/369271\/","title":{"rendered":"Production crew in South Philadelphia shooting new short film &#8216;Philly Pretzels&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">South Philadelphia had a visit from Hollywood over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Production crews were outside the Mummers Museum at 2nd Street and Washington Avenue filming scenes for a short film called &#8220;Philly Pretzels.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The film follows Barry, a soft pretzel street vendor, played by actor and Abington, Montgomery County native, Adam Shapiro.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Director Justin Crowell says the film is a love letter to his hometown.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">He wants to pay tribute to the city&#8217;s unique soft pretzels that were a staple of his childhood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;Ever since my dad and I would come down to Flyers games and buy pretzels from a guy on the side of the road, just talking to those people. And they clearly were such a part of the community and it meant so much to me that they were always there,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;Philly Pretzels&#8221; is expected to be released in 2026.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"South Philadelphia had a visit from Hollywood over the weekend.
