The Houston faith community is mourning the loss of one of its most beloved leaders, Pastor James E. Nash. A pillar of leadership and service in the Sunnyside<\/a> neighborhood, Pastor Nash passed away earlier this month at the age of 87.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, November 8th, family, friends, long-time congregation members, and community leaders gathered to honor his life and legacy at a heartfelt funeral service at Mt. Hebron Missionary Baptist Church.<\/p>\n

For more than 40 years, Pastor Nash led St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, expanding its outreach and solidifying its role as a cornerstone in the Sunnyside community. His vision was clear: uplift the lives of others, particularly through programs focused on youth support and family services.<\/p>\n

Under his leadership, the church became a beacon of hope. Pastor Nash\u2019s commitment to service extended beyond the pulpit, as he worked tirelessly to address issues affecting the community. He was a strong advocate for public safety, joining the Ministers Against Crime group to strengthen relationships between local residents, city leaders, and law enforcement.<\/p>\n
