Mu\u00f1oz said Pinto shot him so many times that the gun ran out of bullets. He survived after multiple surgeries to repair injuries to his lungs, intestines and hands.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou\u2019re willing to take care of someone and love them so much for three years and for them to pay you with bullets, try to take your life,\u201d Mu\u00f1oz said in a previous interview with KHOU 11.<\/p>\n
He said the attack happened in a wooded area near Highway 288 and Airport Boulevard, where Pinto allegedly lured him under the guise of watching the sunset before opening fire.<\/p>\n
After the shooting, Mu\u00f1oz managed to convince her to get help. Pinto eventually drove him to a nearby gas station, where emergency crews were called.<\/p>\n
Now, months later, Pinto\u2019s sentencing brings Mu\u00f1oz and his family a measure of relief.<\/p>\n
Mu\u00f1oz, once a mechanic, continues to recover from his injuries and told KHOU 11\u2019s Anayeli Ruiz that knowing Pinto will spend the next decade in prison helps him move forward.<\/p>\n
