CHICAGO (WLS) — Chicago police are looking for a suspect in a stabbing that happened on a CTA platform on the city’s Near West Side on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

Police said the stabbing happened around 11:15 p.m. Saturday at the UIC-Halsted CTA Blue Line stop. That station is located at 430 South Halsted Street.<\/p>\n

A female of an unknown age was sitting on a bench on the platform when the suspect allegedly approached her, took a knife out of his backpack, and stabbed her in the chest, police said.<\/p>\n

CPD said the victim was in good condition on Sunday. The suspect left the scene, walking northbound on South Morgan Street.<\/p>\n

Police released a photo of the suspect, a male of an unknown age, holding the knife.<\/p>\n

He is about 6 feet tall and weighs about 160-180 lbs. He was last seen wearing a pink beanie, a gray hooded jacket, an orange sweater, light blue jeans, and white shoes. He carried a gray book bag.<\/p>\n

Police asked anyone with information to contact them at 312-744-8261.<\/p>\n
