After spending basically all of season 27<\/a> making fun of Donald Trump<\/a>,\u00a0South Park<\/a>\u00a0creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker don\u2019t want people to forget that they make fun of the other side as well; they just want whatever they\u2019re writing about to be funny. \u201cWe\u2019re just very down-the-middle guys,\u201d Parker told the New York Times<\/a> when talking about their most recent season, making fun of all things MAGA. \u201cAny extremists of any kind we make fun of. We did it for years with the woke thing. That was hilarious to us. And this is hilarious to us.\u201d The duo explains that they\u2019re more \u201cattracted\u201d to taboo topics, and that, because speaking out against the administration had become taboo amid the Colbert cancellation<\/a> and Kimmel suspension<\/a>, they went for it. \u201cIt\u2019s not that we got all political,\u201d Parker shared. \u201cIt\u2019s that politics became pop culture.\u201d<\/p>\n South Park\u2019s focus on Trump has been paying off. The season 27 premiere<\/a> had more than 6 million viewers across all platforms, its highest ratings in 25 years. So there\u2019s no stopping Parker and Stone from making fun of the current administration, especially when politics<\/a> continues to blend with pop culture<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s like the government is just in your face everywhere you look,\u201d Parker continued. \u201cWhether it\u2019s the actual government or whether it is all the podcasters and the TikToks and the YouTubes and all of that, and it\u2019s just all political and political because it\u2019s more than political.
