Dharmendra\u2019s wife, actor-politician Hema Malini, also criticised \u201cirresponsible\u201d media coverage of the veteran actor\u2019s health.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is being extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy,\u201d Malini posted on X. <\/p>\n
When contacted, Breach Candy hospital said: \u201cWe cannot disclose anything. We are not allowed to. Please contact\u00a0the\u00a0family.\u201d<\/p>\n
Their statements came after several prominent figures, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and lyricist Javed Akhtar, posted tributes on X, even as the family denied reports of Dharmendra\u2019s death.<\/p>\n
Dharmendra has been in and out of south Mumbai\u2019s Breach Candy Hospital for several days.<\/p>\n
Malini had, earlier on Monday night, urged people to remain calm and pray for his recovery.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thank everyone for their concern about Dharam ji who is in hospital for observation. He is being continuously monitored and we are all with him. I request you all to pray for his welfare and speedy recovery,\u201d she posted on X.<\/p>\n
A representative for his son, actor and BJP MP Sunny Deol, denied speculation that the \u201cSholay\u201d star had been put on a ventilator.<\/p>\n
\u201cMr. Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further comments and updates will be shared as available. Kindly don\u2019t indulge in spreading false rumours regarding his health. Request everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family\u2019s right to privacy,\u201d the PR representative said.<\/p>\n
The entire Deol family, including Malini, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, are currently at the hospital. Superstars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan visited the family, while actor Govinda was also seen at the hospital.<\/p>\n
