{"id":37115,"date":"2025-07-04T04:17:24","date_gmt":"2025-07-04T04:17:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/37115\/"},"modified":"2025-07-04T04:17:24","modified_gmt":"2025-07-04T04:17:24","slug":"17m-keller-city-sports-complex-construction-begins-as-40m-park-renovations-finished-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/37115\/","title":{"rendered":"$17M Keller City Sports complex construction begins as $40M park renovations finished up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Construction is expected to start Aug. 1 on a <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2025\/03\/15\/keller-looks-to-create-sports-destination-with-57m-for-athletic-complex-park-renovations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">planned multimillion dollar sports complex<\/a> in Keller that will help transform city athletic facilities.<\/p>\n<p>The $17 million City Sports athletic facility is intended to complement $40 million in renovations to the Keller Sports Park near the Alliance area of north Fort Worth. About 70% of renovations are complete, city officials said.<\/p>\n<p>The sports complex \u2014 a one-story manufactured building that will be built on 8 acres at 401 Golden Triangle Blvd. \u2014 will be located at the northwest corner of the Keller Sports Park.<\/p>\n<p>ME Development LLC, a Dallas-area company, plans to complete construction by Nov. 1, 2026, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tdlr.texas.gov\/TABS\/Search\/Project\/TABS2025021398\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">state filing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The building will include four indoor courts, two outdoor courts and three turf fields for basketball, volleyball, cheer activities and futsal, a type of soccer that is played indoors on a smaller court.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Materials to be used include masonry, metal, glass and wood on each elevation with a vinyl rainscreen\/windblock on the east side.<\/p>\n<p>The filing said the development will include an open air pavilion with turf fields and concession stands.<\/p>\n<p>About 52 acres of the 192-acre sports park is currently undeveloped, Keller officials said.<\/p>\n<p>Keller City Manager Aaron Rector has said the sports complex will aid in economic growth as the city sports park is upgraded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe project will expand our sports offerings, provide new tournament opportunities, and help support area restaurants and retailers, particularly in Old Town Keller,\u201d Rector previously told the Fort Worth Report.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"780\" height=\"585\" data-attachment-id=\"285951\" data-permalink=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/504287778_1034987118813457_4836792376263225316_n\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/fortworthreport.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/504287778_1034987118813457_4836792376263225316_n.jpg?fit=2048%2C1536&amp;ssl=1\" data-orig-size=\"2048,1536\" data-comments-opened=\"0\" data-image-meta=\"{&quot;aperture&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;credit&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;camera&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;caption&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;created_timestamp&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;copyright&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;focal_length&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;iso&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;shutter_speed&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;title&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;orientation&quot;:&quot;0&quot;}\" data-image-title=\"504287778_1034987118813457_4836792376263225316_n\" data-image-description=\"\" data-image-caption=\"&lt;p&gt;Synthetic turf has been added to a baseball field at Keller Sports Park, part of $40 million in renovations. (Courtesy photo | City of Keller). <\/p>\n<p>Keller council members approved the terms of a ground lease for City Sports in October 2023 and an incentive agreement in May 2024. A site plan with zoning variances to allow commercial uses at City Sports was approved in February 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, city officials said renovations are nearing completion at the Keller Sports Park.<\/p>\n<p>New parking lots are complete and final work on Soccer Parkway is expected to wrap up soon, the city said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/cityofkellertx\/posts\/pfbid02cckXwLYRpGrGk4A8RcMxu5p1pUogTjHibAYimfHYTiub17dBrC58uUJM2N3bYoC7l\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">late June Facebook<\/a> post. (Courtesy photo | City of Keller)<\/p>\n<p>A new equestrian-area press box has passed inspection and is ready to use.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLandscaping is going in around the equestrian area and new baseball fields, and new backstops are being installed on both the baseball and softball fields,\u201d the city Facebook post said.<\/p>\n<p>Keller officials plan to demolish the existing baseball fourplex to \u201ccontinue transforming the park for future generations of Keller athletes and families,\u201d the city said.<\/p>\n<p>Eric E.
