Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The massive polar vortex has pushed arctic air from Canada into the Empire State, bringing an unseasonably early taste of winter to 100 million people, including the tri-state area, which is under a freeze warning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA strong dip in the jet stream has brought cold air in from Canada across the Eastern US,\u201d McCloud said.<\/p>\n<p>Snow flurries fall in Long Island City, Queens on November 11, 2025.
