The investment advisory company is currently collecting donations as part of the center\u2019s annual Gifting Holiday Hope Program<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWe looked at a lot of the national charities, and believe it or not, they are overfunded,\u201d Trajan Wealth Founder and CEO Jeff Junior told KTAR News 92.3 FM\u2019s Arizona\u2019s Morning News on Tuesday. \u201cSo, I wanted to look for a local charity, and Sojourner Center is one of those local charities, and our impact and our giving makes such a difference in the lives of the people that we\u2019re able to help.\u201d<\/p>\n Why does Trajan Wealth support the Sojourner Center?<\/p>\n Junior decided to make the Sojourner Center the beneficiary of the holiday donation drive because he wanted to support the work the shelter is doing to cut down on the prevalence of domestic violence.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s hard to imagine that approximately every hour a child witnesses domestic abuse here in Arizona,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd the unfortunate thing is they see that and believe it\u2019s just normal and so they carry on that pattern. So when you do something to help with that, that\u2019s what it\u2019s all about.\u201d<\/p>\n Junior added that the support doesn\u2019t stop after the holidays.<\/p>\n \u201cYou\u2019ve got all year. It doesn\u2019t have to be before Christmas or a deadline. It can always go to the following year, as well,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n How to support Trajan Wealth\u2019s charity drive<\/p>\n Anyone wishing to take part in Trajan Wealth\u2019s holiday season charity drive can drop off unwrapped gifts at any of the company\u2019s four Valley offices<\/a> by Nov. 28. The company will also accept donations at its golf tournament and donation drive<\/a> at Camelback Golf Club on Dec. 3.<\/p>\n Additionally, donations can be made by purchasing an item from the Sojourner Center\u2019s Amazon wish list<\/a> or by dropping off the donation at the shelter\u2019s resource center near 24th and Roosevelt streets<\/a> in Phoenix. The resource center is open on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Thursdays and Fridays from noon to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n Donations can also be scheduled by emailing donationcenter@sojournercenter.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n The shelter has a full list of donations<\/a> it is seeking this holiday season, including items for women, men, teens, children and pets, as well as household items.<\/p>\n Junior said that toys are the most common donation he sees every year, but things people need every day, such as clothing, bedsheets, shoes and socks, can make a huge difference in the lives of those at the Sojourner Center.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s the 10- to 18-year-olds that really lack a lot of the gifts,\u201d he said. \u201cNot saying the games and the toys aren\u2019t cool, but the daily necessities are a good thing to donate.\u201d<\/p>\n Follow @J_Vinton52<\/a><\/p>\n We want to hear from you.<\/p>\n Have a story idea or tip?
