{"id":3724,"date":"2025-06-22T00:04:10","date_gmt":"2025-06-22T00:04:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/3724\/"},"modified":"2025-06-22T00:04:10","modified_gmt":"2025-06-22T00:04:10","slug":"jiri-lehecka-is-warned-he-made-a-big-mistake-before-queens-club-championships-final-with-carlos-alcaraz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/3724\/","title":{"rendered":"Jiri Lehecka is warned he made a big mistake before Queen&#8217;s Club Championships final with Carlos Alcaraz"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Jiri Lehecka and Carlos Alcaraz will contest the Queen\u2019s Club Championships final on Sunday.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Producing a stunning win on the Andy Murray Arena, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/jiri-lehecka-gives-his-verdict-on-how-the-british-crowd-treated-him-during-his-win-over-jack-draper-at-queens\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lehecka beat Jack Draper<\/a> to book his place in an ATP 500 final for the first time in his career.<\/p>\n<p>Awaiting him in the final is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/carlos-alcaraz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alcaraz<\/a>, who took down his fellow Spaniard, Roberto Bautista Agut, 6-4, 6-4, in the second semi-final.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"726\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/GettyImages-2221347900-1024x726.jpg\" alt=\"Carlos Alcaraz and Roberto Bautista Agut embrace at the net after their semi-final match at Queen's\" class=\"wp-image-104197\" \/>Photo by Julian Finney\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The two youngsters will battle it out for the title on Sunday, looking to finish up their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/wimbledon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wimbledon<\/a> preparations on the right note.<\/p>\n<p>Alcaraz will no doubt be favored to beat Lehecka, as one <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/atp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ATP<\/a> legend warns the Czech star he made things even tougher for himself with what he did after his semi-final match.<\/p>\n<p>John Lloyd thinks Jiri Lehecka made a mistake watching Carlos Alcaraz\u2019s match before the final<\/p>\n<p>During the latter stages of Alcaraz\u2019s win over Bautista Agut, Lehecka could be seen watching on from the stands.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on BBC Sport after the match, 1977 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/australian-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Australian Open<\/a> finalist John Lloyd suggested that Lehecka may have made a mistake by doing so.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat is going to be a different type of match [the final], and that will be tough, but when [Carlos] Alcaraz plays like this today\u2026,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/john-lloyd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lloyd<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"702\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/GettyImages-2221328461-1024x702.jpg\" alt=\"Jiri Lehecka celebrates his win over Jack Draper at Queen's\" class=\"wp-image-104200\" \/>Photo by Luke Walker\/Getty Images for LTA<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI saw his opponent watching him, and I was thinking, I wouldn\u2019t have watched this if I were you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Czech star likely won\u2019t have gained much confidence watching the world number two as Alcaraz eased into the final.<\/p>\n<p>Lloyd was mightily impressed with Alcaraz\u2019s performance against Bautista Agut and labelled the Spaniard a \u2018genius\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s a genius, isn\u2019t he. We saw some shots today that no one else can play on the tour. He\u2019s a joy to watch,\u201d said Lloyd.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen he\u2019s in the mood, which is most cases these days, he plays shots, the variety that comes into his game is just, I love watching him play.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou come away from watching [Carlos] Alcaraz and you remember shots in the match and you\u2019ll just say I was there when he hit that ridiculous shot, and that ridiculous shot, sort of like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/roger-federer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[Roger] Federer<\/a>, to be honest.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/GettyImages-2221348095-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Carlos Alcaraz celebrates his win over Roberto Bautista Agut at Queen's\" class=\"wp-image-104202\" \/>Photo by Luke Walker\/Getty Images for LTA<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re really lucky to have him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alcaraz\u2019s serve was on fire during his semi-final win, a shot Lloyd took the time to praise after the match.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s going up and up.
