{"id":372478,"date":"2025-11-11T22:13:10","date_gmt":"2025-11-11T22:13:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/372478\/"},"modified":"2025-11-11T22:13:10","modified_gmt":"2025-11-11T22:13:10","slug":"bill-belichick-responds-to-giants-speculation-after-brian-daboll-firing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/372478\/","title":{"rendered":"Bill Belichick responds to Giants speculation after Brian Daboll firing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The speculation began as soon as the news broke Monday that <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/11\/10\/sports\/giants-fire-brian-daboll-after-another-awful-meltdown\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Giants fired head coach Brian Daboll<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Is it possible Bill Belichick would go home to East Rutherford?<\/p>\n<p>The 73-year-old, currently in his first season as UNC\u2019s head coach, addressed the possibility of coaching the Giants during a press conference on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Predictably, he said he was focused on the Tar Heels\u2019 upcoming opponent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGetting ready for Wake Forest, that\u2019s all I got this week,\u201d Belichick said. \u201cI\u2019ve been asked about [an NFL return] from time to time. Look, I\u2019ve been down this road before. I\u2019m focused on Wake Forest, that\u2019s it. That\u2019s my commitment to this team. Next week it\u2019ll be to our next opponent and so forth. YouTube\/Inside Carolina<\/p>\n<p>Belichick was the defensive coordinator under Bill Parcells when the Giants won Super Bowls 21 and 25, and he has often waxed poetic about the organization and his star player, Lawrence Taylor.<\/p>\n<p>But the dynamic around a potential Belichick hire in 2025 has completely changed from even just two years ago, after he and the Patriots parted ways following 24 seasons and six Super Bowl titles.<\/p>\n<p>Bill Belichick (c.) during a Giants practice ahead of Super Bowl 25 in 1991. AP<\/p>\n<p>His relationship with 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/10\/18\/sports\/unc-misery-continues-for-bill-belichick-jordon-hudson-as-couple-mocked-during-heartbreaking-loss\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">has been highly scrutinized<\/a> and she has had a penchant for drawing attention to herself, including <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/11\/09\/sports\/jordon-hudson-responds-to-banned-rumors-with-necklace-at-unc-game\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sideline appearances at UNC football games<\/a> this season.<\/p>\n<p>Belichick also hasn\u2019t exactly impressed in his first foray as a college head coach, as UNC is 4-5 this year, including 2-3 in ACC play. AP<\/p>\n<p>Belichick struck out on NFL jobs after his New England exit, interviewing for the Falcons job that eventually went to Raheem Morris.
