He\u2019s running 2.9 miles per game, 0.3 more than any other player in the Association.<\/p>\n Few make more threes \u2014 he\u2019s third in 3-pointers made this season at 41. He attacks the basket with abandon, ranking 12th in the NBA with 15.0 drives per game.<\/p>\n Almost no one scores more points. He\u2019s second on the scoring list at 33.2 ppg, trailing only former Kia NBA Most Valuable Player Giannis Antetokounmpo.<\/p>\n Oh, and he\u2019s averaging a career-high 8.2 assists per game.<\/p>\n Last time out, he put up his sixth 30+ point game of the season \u2014 tied for third in the NBA \u2014 in a 111-108<\/a> loss to the Pistons, receiving \u201cMVP!\u201d chants from the Philly faithful.<\/p>\n It\u2019s effort reminiscent of franchise icon Allen Iverson, who averaged 31.1 ppg in his MVP season in 2001.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Iverson could get buckets in any way you wanted. He could get in the lane, go left or right, using lightning quickness backed by resilient, effervescent toughness.<\/p>\n Sounds like Maxey.<\/p>\n As you watch the video above, check the number of ways he can score \u2014 the defense has to watch him at all times, and he can power through contact at the rim, as he does in the final play with a forceful lefty slam.<\/p>\n AI was likely better in isolation. He posted 1.16 points per possession in isolation in his MVP season, while Maxey stands at 0.70 so far this season.<\/p>\n Iverson operated from a standstill more often than Maxey, reacting to the spacing of a more compressed game by using his trademark crossover to take on larger defenders and punch above his weight as a slasher.<\/p>\n But Tyrese, in tune with the modern game, boasts a devastating three-point shot in his skillset. He\u2019s shooting 44.1 percent from deep, knocking down 4.1 of 9.3 3PA per game.<\/p>\n Philly\u2019s lucky to have him. Could Maxey take them all the way to the NBA Finals, as Iverson did?<\/p>\n He\u2019ll have to keep up a dizzying pace. Russell Westbrook and the Kings will host Nikola Joki\u0107 and the Nuggets in the second half of tonight\u2019s \u2018NBA Coast 2 Coast\u2019 doubleheader on NBC and Peacock.<\/p>\n It\u2019s \u2018Coast 2 Coast Tuesday,\u2019 and we\u2019re bringing you a doubleheader rich with rivalry and history on NBC and Peacock, as Jaylen Brown and the Celtics take on Tyrese Maxey and the Philadelphia 76ers (8 ET<\/a>), followed by Nikola Joki\u0107 and the Nuggets taking on Russell Westbrook and the Kings (11 ET<\/a>).<\/p>\n The Celtics and 76ers have faced off 473 times in the regular season, but they\u2019ve never been separated by fewer points than they have this season. Both of their first two contests have been decided by just a single point.<\/p>\n The Sixers won 117-116<\/a> on opening night; the Celtics got their revenge on Halloween 109-108<\/a>. They\u2019ll renew their rivalry tonight.<\/p>\n Watch the offensive flow \u2014 the Sixers are leading the league with 7.0 blocks per game, while the Celtics are topping the Association with 31.3 points off pull-up jumpers, as well as screen assists, with 9.8 per game.<\/p>\n With Joel Embiid out<\/a>, Boston\u2019s challenging Andre Drummond and Adem Bona down low, it may be to Philly\u2019s advantage.<\/p>\n Russell Westbrook and Nikola Joki\u0107 rank No. 1 and No. 3 on the all-time list for triple-doubles in NBA history<\/a>, with Oscar Robertson between them, serving as all-around offensive engines for their teams.<\/p>\n After playing together last season \u2014 and dueling while putting up a combined 60 points, 26 rebounds and 20 assists in a 130-124<\/a> Nuggets win on Nov. 3 \u2014 they\u2019ll face off in the nightcap of tonight\u2019s doubleheader, seeking to lead talented supporting casts featuring stars like Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Aaron Gordon and Jamal Murray.<\/p>\n \u201cHe sits in a category of his own,\u201d Westbrook said last year of Joki\u0107. \u201cHe\u2019s so unselfish.
