{"id":372888,"date":"2025-11-12T02:16:25","date_gmt":"2025-11-12T02:16:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/372888\/"},"modified":"2025-11-12T02:16:25","modified_gmt":"2025-11-12T02:16:25","slug":"dallas-curve-biosciences-raises-40m-for-its-whole-body-intelligence-disease-monitoring-platform-dallas-innovates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/372888\/","title":{"rendered":"Dallas&#8217; Curve Biosciences Raises $40M for Its &#8216;Whole-Body Intelligence&#8217; Disease Monitoring Platform \u00bb Dallas Innovates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                            <img width=\"970\" height=\"464\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/CurveBiosciences_RitishPatnaik_DSC_7221-970.jpg\" class=\"img-responsive wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"featured-caption\">Curve Biosciences Founder and CEO Ritish Patnaik [Photo: Curve Biosciences]<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Plano-born biotech founder has returned to North Texas to establish the headquarters for his company, Curve Biosciences, at Pegasus Park, the nationally recognized life science and biotech innovation hub in Dallas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Curve announced it has raised $40 million in funding led by Luma Group with participation from First Spark Ventures, Techas Capital, Micah Spear, Civilization Ventures, LifeX Ventures, Incite, Mintaka VC, NZVC, and others.<\/p>\n<p>The company said the funding will advance the clinical validation and commercialization of its Whole-Body Intelligence platform, with a goal of \u201ctransforming\u201d chronic disease monitoring.<\/p>\n<p>Curve\u2019s founder and CEO, Ritish Patnaik, left Texas to pursue his doctorate from Stanford University on the West Coast, the company said, but decided to open Curve\u2019s headquarters back near his home turf.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChronic diseases are on the rise, and healthcare costs are skyrocketing as a result. We need to improve patient monitoring to realize the positive impacts of breakthroughs like GLP-1s,\u201d Patnaik said in a statement. \u201cTo raise the standard of chronic disease monitoring, we are now introducing the first Whole-Body Intelligence platform with AI models trained on our Whole-Body Atlas and fueled by our Whole-Body Blood Tests. We\u2019ve paired this platform with a successful executive team to realize our vision for proactive, personalized chronic care that minimizes suffering.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Curve Biosciences, which calls itself the \u201cWhole-Body Intelligence\u201d company, has created what it calls \u201cthe first molecular blueprint of the human body\u201d with its Whole-Body Atlas\u2014said to be the world\u2019s largest collection of manually curated tissue samples characterized by organ and disease state. By returning to \u201ctissue-level biological truth,\u201d the company says it\u2019s creating simple, proactive Whole-Body Blood Tests that anticipate chronic disease, guide treatment, and align patients, insurers, pharma, and doctors.<\/p>\n<p>More on Curve founder and leadership<\/p>\n<p>Born and raised in Plano, Patnaik attended Plano public schools and the University of North Texas before leaving in 2012 for Stanford. At the time of Patnaik\u2019s graduation from Stanford, DFW lacked biotech infrastructure, presenting no viable path to build or fund a biotech company, the founder said.<\/p>\n<p>Flash forward to today. North Texas has established itself as a leading hub for biotech innovation, and the 26-acre <a href=\"https:\/\/dallasinnovates.com\/texas-is-chosen-for-one-of-three-arpa-h-hubs-with-dallas-snagging-a-key-prize\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pegasus Park<\/a> campus is home to more than 885,000 square feet of office and lab space, including 37,000 square feet dedicated to <a href=\"https:\/\/dallasinnovates.com\/see-inside-biolabs-coworking-lab-opens-at-pegasus-park-for-north-texas-biotech-startups\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BioLabs Pegasus Park<\/a>, designed for startups, and 135,000 more for <a href=\"https:\/\/dallasinnovates.com\/dallas-pegasus-park-expands-with-new-bridge-labs-to-support-biotech-growth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bridge Labs<\/a>, for those that graduate into the next phase of funding and growth.<\/p>\n<p>Curve\u2019s executive team includes, per the company:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Patnaik, PhD, CEO \u2013 Former business development at Genentech, with deep expertise in AI, data engineering, and precision testing.<\/li>\n<li>\u00b7Nathan Hunkapiller, PhD, chief scientific officer \u2013 Previously head of R&amp;D at Natera and Head of R&amp;D at GRAIL, where he led the development of advanced blood tests for oncology, prenatal screening, and hereditary cancer screening.<\/li>\n<li>Alice Chen, PhD, chief operating officer \u2013 Former head of product and program management at GRAIL, where she led strategy for a multi-cancer early detection blood test, after leadership roles at Natera, Progyny, and Sienna Biopharmaceuticals.<\/li>\n<li>Chuba Oyolu, PhD, chief technology officer \u2013 Founding scientist and senior site director at Counsyl, where he led the automation, delivery, and scaling of advanced blood tests for prenatal screening and hereditary cancer screening.<\/li>\n<li>Prof. Shan Wang, PhD, chief innovation officer and scientific founder \u2013 Leland T.
