The nonprofit has two North Texas offices, one in Fort Worth and one in Dallas that work together to help veterans across the region.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kalon Skaggs, an outreach and intake specialist with Endeavors, said members of the group saw a distinct need for their help in Tarrant County due to its <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2025\/05\/21\/tarrant-homelessness-population-increases-as-leaders-brace-for-government-funding-cuts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rapidly growing homeless population<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRight now, we\u2019re focused on outreach and getting our name out so veterans who are experiencing homelessness know we can support them,\u201d Skaggs said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Allen Griner, who has a similar role with Endeavors, said he has helped two homeless veterans in Tarrant County through the organization.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m in my car driving, and they\u2019ve got a sign that says, \u2018Homeless veteran. Need cash,\u2019\u201d Griner said. \u201cI said, \u2018I\u2019ll do you one better,\u2019 and gave them my card. (Maria Crane | Fort Worth Report\/CatchLight Local\/Report for America)<\/p>\n<p>Vietnam veteran Keith Potter said he only came to the event for the drone show.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Potter said he enjoyed the new location of the parade. The support was a far cry from what he experienced when he got home from serving, he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe kids that were going to school at the time did not respect the Vietnam veterans, and I\u2019m seeing that change a whole lot now.
