The countdown to kickoff for 2025 continues with two players today who played previous roles at D1 schools that I know you\u2019ll recognize. Both of these guys are big bodies that fill positions of need. Let\u2019s check them out shall we? First, a former Michigan Wolverine.<\/p>\n
#58 – Breeon Ishmail<\/strong><\/p>\n Defensive End<\/strong><\/p>\n 6\u20193\u201d, 260<\/strong><\/p>\n Sophomore<\/strong><\/p>\n Cincinnati, Ohio<\/strong><\/p>\n Previous school: University of Michigan<\/strong><\/p>\n Projection: Defensive End rotation<\/strong><\/p>\n Ishmail spent two seasons with the Michigan Wolverines with his first season being a redshirt year. He was a three star recruit out of high school and Purdue offered but didn\u2019t get the commitment. Now, two years later he\u2019s coming to West Lafayette as an older and wiser player. He played sparingly last season for the Wolverines appearing in seven games with appearances on special teams but also on defense. He tallied three tackles on just 17 snaps. Not exactly world beating numbers, but Purdue needs talent and Coach Odom and staff saw something in Ishmail and he will fight to make the rotation at the defensive end spot where Purdue needs plenty of help.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n #58 – Hank Purvis<\/strong><\/p>\n Offensive Line<\/strong><\/p>\n 6\u20195\u201d, 330<\/strong><\/p>\n Sophomore<\/strong><\/p>\n Wichita, Kansas<\/strong><\/p>\n Previous school: UNLV<\/strong><\/p>\n Projection: Offensive line rotation<\/strong><\/p>\n Purvis comes to Purdue from Barry Odom\u2019s old stomping grounds of UNLV. He was a 2024 recruit who committed to Odom and staff and followed him to West Lafayette once the coaching change was made. He played in 8 games last season with snaps taken at right guard and left tackle. You love to see some versatility in your offensive lineman.<\/p>\n Purvis is obviously a very large human being and that obviously can be a huge help on the offensive line. He will need to continue to improve his hands and his footwork but Odom obviously likes the guy as he brought him along to Purdue.
