Initially, police believed there were three to five burglaries, but the number has since doubled.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The break-in at <a href=\"https:\/\/pattayathaijax.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/pattayathaijax.com\/\">Pattaya Thai Jax<\/a> involved the suspect smashing a glass door and stealing cash from the restaurant\u2019s register. Surveillance video shows the man using a cinder block to break through the front door around 3 a.m. on October 13.<\/p>\n<p>Pattaya Thai was one of the restaurants affected by a string of break-ins on Jacksonville&#8217;s 5 Points area. Surveillance footage from these incidents shows a concrete block being used to break the doors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brewfivepoints.co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.brewfivepoints.co\/\">BREW Five Points<\/a>, a popular local coffee shop, was among the businesses affected by the recent crime wave. The shop sustained thousands of dollars in damage but has since reopened.<\/p>\n<p>BREW Five Points was also affected by the crime spree (Copyright 2025 by WJXT News4JAX &#8211; All rights reserved.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office data shows several burglaries reported near or in Riverside since September 1.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Virgil was arrested on October 21 and remains in custody without bond. While in jail, he was charged with an additional burglary that allegedly occurred on November 7. The date of that crime is currently unknown.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Virgil is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
