CHICAGO (WLS) — A man has now been arrested and charged in the death of a two-month-old boy<\/a> earlier this year, Chicago police said.<\/p>\n

Anthony Evans, 23 of Chicago, is charged with murder in the death of baby Kayson Flowers, who died in April, police said.<\/p>\n

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office says he died from multiple injuries, with signs of child abuse, ruling his death a homicide.<\/p>\n

Chicago police said Evans was arrested earlier this week Monday, months after the boy’s death, is now facing “One (1) felony count – Murder – Strong Probability Death\/Injure.”<\/p>\n

“My son didn’t deserve that. He was only 2 months, 2 months. He can’t fight back,” the baby’s mother, Kayla Flowers, told ABC7 in May<\/a>. “This is heartbreaking for me seeing my child in that condition.”<\/p>\n

Kayla said after Kayson was in the care of someone else for over a week, she picked him up on April 28. She says she was told he was asleep inside his car seat before leaving.<\/p>\n

“Me, not thinking anything of it, because it was raining, I just took my baby to the house, because I didn’t want my child to get sick. So, when I went in the house, I uncovered the stroller in the car seat, my baby was lifeless,” Kayla said.<\/p>\n

Kayson was pronounced dead at the hospital later that day, but the family says doctors told them he had likely already been dead for six to eight hours.<\/p>\n

“I want justice for my son,” Kayla said. “I’m not going to rest until I get justice.”<\/p>\n

No further information about Evans’ arrest was immediately available.<\/p>\n
