Sophie Cunningham had fans laughing and apologizing all at once after a playful moment at the celebrity pro-am before THE ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge on Wednesday. The Indiana Fever guard, known for her competitive fire and humor, accidentally hit a golf ball into a small group of spectators, only for the \u201cvictims\u201d to turn the moment into a comedy scene.<\/p>\n

As the ball struck near a group of men, they dramatically pretended to collapse, drawing laughter from the crowd. Caitlin Clark, Cunningham\u2019s Fever teammate and fellow pro-am participant, immediately shouted, \u201cMan down, man down! He\u2019s down, he\u2019s down!\u201d as Sophie rushed over, laughing and apologizing.<\/p>\n

The clip, which quickly spread across social media, showed Cunningham running to the group to make sure everyone was fine. She signed a few jerseys, posed for pictures, and joined in on the jokes. One fan was heard saying, \u201cDon\u2019t feel bad, it was worth it,\u201d to which Sophie quipped back, \u201cSays your wife.\u201d The exchange had everyone cracking up, including Clark, who could barely keep a straight face.<\/p>\n

Cunningham\u2019s first year with the Indiana Fever didn\u2019t go as planned when an injury sidelined her after 30 games. She scored 8.6 points per game in her first season with the Fever after six seasons with the Phoenix Mercury. Despite not being on the court, her impact in the locker room and her connection with teammates, especially Caitlin Clark, remained strong.<\/p>\n

Now heading into the offseason as an unrestricted free agent, Cunningham\u2019s next move will be one to watch. The Fever are expected to make several roster adjustments after falling to the Las Vegas Aces in the WNBA semifinals. Las Vegas went on to win the WNBA Finals over the Mercury.<\/p>\n

Look for her next move to be a popular one, as she has become a fan favorite across the league and will be an instant favorite wherever she lands next.<\/p>\n
