And it\u2019s where Annie Shi, one of the restaurateurs behind <a href=\"https:\/\/ny.eater.com\/2016\/10\/3\/13111454\/king-restaurant-nyc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">King<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/ny.eater.com\/2022\/11\/21\/23471322\/jupiter-restaurant-opening-nyc-king-rockefeller-center\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jupiter<\/a>, chose to <a href=\"https:\/\/ny.eater.com\/2025\/6\/5\/24443344\/lei-wine-bar-opening-annie-shi-patty-lee-chinatown\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">open<\/a> her Chinese American wine bar <a href=\"https:\/\/ny.eater.com\/venue\/899611\/lei\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lei<\/a> this summer. It\u2019s so picturesque that three wedding photoshoots took place outside on a late fall evening. One couple even posed in front of Lei\u2019s red-tiled entrance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">The team knows their wine, so trust their glass recommendations. I enjoyed my Porfia Tinto 2024 from Spanish winery Agricola Calcarea ($19) with noodles and the Pentecoastal Block Riesling 2024 from Apollo\u2019s Praise in the Finger Lakes with dessert.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">Solo dinners or small group hangs where people aren\u2019t mega-hungry \u2014 most of the menu is portioned on the smaller side.
