{"id":376428,"date":"2025-11-13T17:46:11","date_gmt":"2025-11-13T17:46:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/376428\/"},"modified":"2025-11-13T17:46:11","modified_gmt":"2025-11-13T17:46:11","slug":"d-backs-promote-steve-mullins-to-evp-business-operations-cco","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/376428\/","title":{"rendered":"D-backs promote Steve Mullins to EVP\/Business Operations &#038; CCO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph sections-people-and-pop-culture \">The D-backs have elevated <b>STEVE MULLINS<\/b> from SVP\/Corporate Partnerships, Broadcasting &amp; Events to EVP\/Business Operations &amp; CCO. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph sections-people-and-pop-culture \">Mullins\u2019 promotion follows <b>CULLEN MAXEY<\/b>\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2025\/10\/27\/royals-hire-cullen-maxey-as-president-of-business-operations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2025\/10\/27\/royals-hire-cullen-maxey-as-president-of-business-operations\/\">departure to become president of business operations with the Royals<\/a>. Mullins called Maxey a mentor and was excited for his longtime colleague\u2019s next chapter in K.C. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph sections-people-and-pop-culture \">\u201cIt\u2019s a dream come true,\u201d said Mullins, who will enter his 13th season with the D-backs (two stints). \u201cIt\u2019s a role that I aspired to be in, and just the trust the organization has had in me is phenomenal. I\u2019m grateful to our leadership team and ownership for the opportunity.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph sections-people-and-pop-culture \">Mullins will report to D-backs President, CEO &amp; General Partner <b>DERRICK HALL<\/b>. \u201cSteve is an accomplished sports executive with a tremendous reputation. He has been a key leader in our achievement of record-level revenues and has had a firm grip on our business operations and vision for years,\u201d Hall said. \u201cHe is prepared and deserving of this promotion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph sections-people-and-pop-culture \">Mullins said he\u2019s helped with Arizona\u2019s recent double-digit increases in sponsorship growth; the team securing its first jersey patch deal with Avnet; bringing game broadcast and production in-house; launching free over-the-air broadcasts; and concerts coming to Chase Field. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph sections-people-and-pop-culture \">In his new role, Mullins said he will be involved in the revenue, marketing, community affairs and communications areas of the business. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph sections-people-and-pop-culture \">\u201cI think my expertise and where I\u2019ve grown up is in sponsorships, and so we\u2019ve got to keep that part rolling along. That will still be a key focus of mine,\u201d Mullins said. \u201cThe reality is we\u2019re already operating at a high level. So it\u2019s just more how do I step in and compliment the leaders we have and keep everyone moving in a positive direction.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph sections-people-and-pop-culture \">Overall, Mullins has spent 23 years in professional sports. His first stint with the D-backs spanned from 2007-13, where he rose to VP\/Corporate Partnerships. He then spent time with the T\u2019Wolves (2013-16), iHeartMedia (2016-18), the Fiesta Bowl (2018-19) and the Dolphins (2019-21) before returning to Arizona. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph sections-people-and-pop-culture \">\u201cMy wife and I both have roots in Arizona, and every stop that I\u2019ve been at along the way I\u2019ve wanted to take best practices I learned with the Diamondbacks and implement them,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The D-backs have elevated STEVE MULLINS from SVP\/Corporate Partnerships, Broadcasting &amp; Events to EVP\/Business Operations &amp; CCO.
