{"id":376432,"date":"2025-11-13T17:48:11","date_gmt":"2025-11-13T17:48:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/376432\/"},"modified":"2025-11-13T17:48:11","modified_gmt":"2025-11-13T17:48:11","slug":"antonio-brown-released-from-jail-to-await-attempted-murder-trial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/376432\/","title":{"rendered":"Antonio Brown released from jail to await attempted murder trial"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nov 13, 2025, 11:54 AM ET<\/p>\n<p>MIAMI &#8212; Former NFL star wide receiver <a data-player-guid=\"61ed6819-274b-9dc3-0dde-874ed7b18cbf\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/13934\/antonio-brown\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Antonio Brown<\/a> walked out of a Miami jail on Thursday, released on $25,000 bail after pleading not guilty to a second-degree attempted murder charge.<\/p>\n<p>Brown, 37, embraced attorney Mark Eiglarsh outside the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami. He held a bag of belongings as they walked to a nearby food truck, where Brown got a drink, and then they left in the lawyer&#8217;s vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>Circuit Judge Mindy Glazer ordered Brown to wear a GPS ankle monitor as he awaits his trial. He faces a potential 15-year prison sentence and a fine up to $10,000 if convicted.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors had sought pretrial detention, contending Brown is a former professional athlete with resources to flee. Eiglarsh told the judge Wednesday that Brown, who no longer has a passport, would return to his home in Broward County, Florida, while the case proceeds.<\/p>\n<p>Brown is accused of grabbing a handgun from a security staffer after a celebrity boxing match in Miami on May 16 and firing two shots at a man he had gotten into a fistfight with earlier, according to an arrest warrant. Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu told investigators that one of the bullets grazed his neck.<\/p>\n<p>Brown&#8217;s attorney said Wednesday that the affidavit is mistaken &#8212; Brown actually used his personal firearm, and the shots were not aimed at anyone.<\/p>\n<p>Brown spent 12 years in the NFL and was an All-Pro wide receiver who last played in 2021 for the <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"13e8b157-a75a-ff24-ae91-fa3d52ddf204\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/team\/_\/name\/tb\/tampa-bay-buccaneers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tampa Bay Buccaneers<\/a>. He spent much of his career with the <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"debcd592-8d53-71f1-fc15-5c8b8ef9df6e\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/team\/_\/name\/pit\/pittsburgh-steelers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a>.
