John Fetterman has been hospitalized following a fall due to a cardiac event, <a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/the-view-sunny-hostin-confronts-john-fetterman-siding-gop-shutdown-11847408\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">two days after The View<\/a> producer Brian Teta said that the Pennsylvania politician shifted his in-studio appearance to a virtual one.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_4-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> The political figure&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/senfettermanpa\/status\/1989026864862507493?s=46\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow\">official X account<\/a> announced Thursday through a spokesperson that, &#8220;During an early morning walk, Sen. Fetterman sustained a fall near his home in Braddock,&#8221; a small town outside of Pittsburgh, where he was &#8220;transported to a hospital&#8221; in the aftermath.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Upon evaluation, it was established he had a ventricular fibrillation flare-up that led to Sen. Fetterman feeling light-headed, falling to the ground and hitting his face with minor injuries,&#8221; the statement continued. &#8220;Sen. Fetterman had this to say: &#8216;If you thought my face looked bad before, wait until you see it now!'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p> Alyssa Farah Griffin and Sen. John Fetterman on &#8216;The View.<\/p>\n<p>ABC<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_7-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> The spokesperson added that the 56-year-old &#8220;is doing well and receiving routine observation at the hospital&#8221; and &#8220;has opted to stay so doctors can fine-tune his medication regimen&#8221; for the time being.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Sen. Fetterman is grateful for the EMTs, doctors, and nurses who are providing his care,&#8221; the statement concluded.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_9-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> Two days prior, Sen. Fetterman appeared on <a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/the-view\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The View<\/a> for a virtual interview that producer Teta noted on Wednesday&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/episode\/2A09jXytKktcUnJfn88lti?si=ee7723cfbfcc4ce0\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Behind the Table podcast<\/a> was initially supposed to be a live studio appearance.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_11-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> &#8220;I wish we&#8217;d had more time with him. It was unfortunate,&#8221; Teta told cohost <a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/person\/sara-haines\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sara Haines<\/a> on the podcast. &#8220;He was supposed to be in-studio, but he had to do it remotely, instead.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_15-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> Entertainment Weekly has learned that Democratic Sen. Fetterman&#8217;s appearance shifted due to the developments in ending the government shutdown \u2014 his decision to side with Republicans on attempting to resolve drew ire from The View cohost <a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/person\/sunny-hostin\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sunny Hostin<\/a> during Tuesday&#8217;s interview.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_17-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> &#8220;Why give in now? Why bring a butter knife to a gun fight? Are you willing to gamble that the GOP will negotiate in good faith once the government reopens, because if that gamble is wrong, half a million Pennsylvanians that you represent, their healthcare costs will skyrocket if you\u2019re wrong?&#8221; Hostin asked Sen. Fetterman of his decision to side with seven other Democrats in advancing a vote to end the shutdown. &#8220;And I believe you are wrong.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_21-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> &#8220;I don\u2019t need a lecture. I don\u2019t need lecture from, whether it\u2019s Bernie [Sanders] or the governor in California, because they&#8217;re representing very deep blue populations and a lot of those things were part of the extreme,&#8221; Sen. Fetterman responded, adding a question back to Hostin by saying, &#8220;Why have we arrived here after the election a year ago? Fetterman&#8217;s political career. He had a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/health\/john-fetterman-overcame-a-stroke-on-the-campaign-trail-and-ongoing-heart-condition-to-win-a-senate-seat\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">stroke<\/a>\u00a0in May 2022 during his Senate run, and later announced that he was diagnosed with the heart condition <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/politics\/john-fetterman-reveals-heart-condition-following-stroke-senate-primary-win\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">atrial fibrillation<\/a> in November 2022. <strong><br \/><\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_27-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> EW has reached out to representatives for Sen.
