{"id":377066,"date":"2025-11-14T00:02:32","date_gmt":"2025-11-14T00:02:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/377066\/"},"modified":"2025-11-14T00:02:32","modified_gmt":"2025-11-14T00:02:32","slug":"bruce-blakeman-weighs-joining-race-for-new-york-governor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/377066\/","title":{"rendered":"Bruce Blakeman weighs joining race for New York governor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Another Republican might be throwing their hat in the ring for the race for New York governor in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman was at the state Capitol in Albany on Thursday as part of his statewide tour.<\/p>\n<p>Blakeman said after winning his reelection bid for county executive last week, business and community leaders called him and urged him to enter the race for governor.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This comes nearly a week after U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik launched her gubernatorial campaign.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Stefanik has already picked up numerous endorsements from Republicans around the state.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Blakeman said if he gains enough support, he&#8217;ll jump into the race.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m making my decision not based on what professional establishment politicians tell me to do,&#8221; Blakeman said. &#8220;I&#8217;m going to do it based on what I think is the best thing for the people of New York and the best thing for my party.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Blakeman said he hopes to make a decision in the coming weeks.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Gov. Kathy Hochul is running for her second full term and is facing a primary challenge from Lt. Gov.
