{"id":378817,"date":"2025-11-14T17:42:12","date_gmt":"2025-11-14T17:42:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/378817\/"},"modified":"2025-11-14T17:42:12","modified_gmt":"2025-11-14T17:42:12","slug":"ariana-grande-red-carpet-attacker-arrested-and-brags-about-incident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/378817\/","title":{"rendered":"Ariana Grande Red Carpet Attacker Arrested and Brags About Incident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe man who made global headlines by rushing and grabbing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/ariana-grande\/\" id=\"auto-tag_ariana-grande\" data-tag=\"ariana-grande\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ariana Grande<\/a> on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/wicked-for-good\/\" id=\"auto-tag_wicked-for-good\" data-tag=\"wicked-for-good\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wicked: For Good<\/a> red carpet Thursday has been arrested and charged in Singapore. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tJohnson Wen, a 26-year-old Australian, was charged with \u201cbeing a public nuisance,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/c051q4pnz39o\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">according to the BBC<\/a>. He posted on Instagram that he was already \u201cfree after being arrested\u201d in an incident that reportedly \u201ccaused massive outrage\u201d in Singapore. The charge carries a rather mild penalty \u2014 a roughly $1,500 fine if found guilty.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWen calls himself \u201cTroll Most Hated\u201d on his Instagram and apparently has a history of pulling this sort of stunt. He has previously posted clips of him disrupting other events \u2014 such as jumping on stage at concerts by Katy Perry, The Weeknd and The Chainsmokers, as well as running onto the field at sporting events. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe Grande grabber also posted an unrepentant clip after being freed with a song playing in the background containing the lyric, \u201cIf I had to do it all over again, I\u2019d still do it all over again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tHere are those clips: <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe original incident happened during a premiere event at a Singapore mall for the highly anticipated musical sequel. Hundreds of fans were in attendance as the film\u2019s cast walked the red carpet. Wen broke through past photographers and aggressively threw his arms around Grande, leaving her appearing very shaken (she has not commented on the incident). Grande\u2019s Wicked: For Good co-star <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/cynthia-erivo\/\" id=\"auto-tag_cynthia-erivo\" data-tag=\"cynthia-erivo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cynthia Erivo<\/a> immediately jumped in, helped shove the fan away and then protectively put her arms around Grande. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tIn 2017, a terrorist attack occurred outside a Grande concert in Manchester, England, with a suicide bomber killing 22 attendees. Earlier this year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/ariana-grande-wicked-hit-songs-awards-chatter-podcast-1236126039\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Grande spoke to The Hollywood Reporter\u2019s Awards Chatter podcast<\/a> about experiencing psychological fallout from the tragedy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cI was doing so much therapy, and I was dealing with PTSD and all different kinds of grief and depression and anxiety,\u201d she said. \u201cI was, of course, treating it very seriously, but having music be a part of that remedy was absolutely contributing to saving my life. They were dark times, and the music brought so much levity.\u201d After the red carpet incident, some fans have accused Wen on social media of \u201cre-traumatizing\u201d the actress. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWicked: For Good had its European premiere in London earlier this week where the stars of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/jon-m-chu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jon M. Chu<\/a>\u2018s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/wicked\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wicked<\/a>\u00a0sequel were joined by fellow castmembers\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/jonathan-bailey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jonathan Bailey<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/jeff-goldblum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jeff Goldblum<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/ethan-slater\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ethan Slater<\/a> and Marissa Bode. The first of Chu\u2019s\u00a0Wicked\u00a0films debuted to critical acclaim and swiftly accrued more than $750 million at the global box office. Such was the success of the movie that Erivo and Grande were both nominated for Academy Awards in the best actress and best supporting actress categories, respectively, at the 2025 Oscars.
