Aldrich Potgieter, a 20-year-old South African, earned his first PGA Tour victory with a birdie on par-3 15th hole at Detroit Golf Club, June 29, 2025.<\/p>\n

Golfweek released its annual list of 100 best public golf courses<\/a> on Monday, June 30, and the state of Michigan is well represented.<\/p>\n

Just as it was in 2024, Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach, California, was named the No. 1 public golf course in the country. That was followed by Pacific Dunes at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Oregon, and Pinehurst No. 2 in Pinehurst, North Carolina.<\/p>\n

Those three courses mirrored the top three of Golfweek’s 2024 list<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As for the Michigan courses, the list features the seven courses, one more than the six that were featured in 2024.<\/p>\n

Here are the seven Michigan public golf courses that made the top-100:<\/p>\n

Arcadia Bluffs (Bluffs), Arcadia (No. 32)<\/p>\n

Arcadia Bluffs ranked No. 31 in the 2024 list and fell just one spot on the 2025 list.<\/p>\n

Average rating:<\/strong> 7.17.<\/p>\n

Location:<\/strong> Arcadia.<\/p>\n

Marquette Golf Club (Greywalls), Marquette (No. 46)<\/p>\n

Greywalls at Marquette Golf Club fell six spots, down from No. 40 on the 2024 list.<\/p>\n

Average rating:<\/strong> 6.94.<\/p>\n

Location:<\/strong> Marquette.<\/p>\n

Forest Dunes (The Loop Red & Black), Roscommon (No. 50)<\/p>\n

Smack-dab in the middle of the list is The Loop Red & Black at Forest Dunes, down three spots from its No. 47 ranking in 2024.<\/p>\n

Average rating:<\/strong> 6.91.<\/p>\n

Location:<\/strong> Roscommon.<\/p>\n

Forest Dunes (Weiskopf), Roscommon (No. 78)<\/p>\n

Speaking of Forest Dunes, its Weiskopf course dropped 10 spots from the 2024 list.<\/p>\n

Average rating:<\/strong> 6.65.<\/p>\n

Location:<\/strong> Roscommon.<\/p>\n

Arcadia Bluffs (South), Arcadia (No. 84)<\/p>\n

The South course at Arcadia Bluffs moved up three spots from No. 87 on the 2024 list.<\/p>\n

Average rating:<\/strong> 6.63.<\/p>\n

Location:<\/strong> Arcadia.<\/p>\n

Belvedere, Charlevoix (No. 99)<\/p>\n

Tied for the final spot on the list is Belvedere, which was ranked at No. 94 in the 2024 list.<\/p>\n

Location:<\/strong> Charlevoix.<\/p>\n

Note: This article originally said that only six Michigan courses had made the list, but neglected to mention the Arcadia Bluffs (South) course, which came in tied at No. 84.<\/p>\n
