{"id":379690,"date":"2025-11-15T02:10:13","date_gmt":"2025-11-15T02:10:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/379690\/"},"modified":"2025-11-15T02:10:13","modified_gmt":"2025-11-15T02:10:13","slug":"bill-belichick-shoots-down-giants-rumors-reaffirms-commitment-to-unc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/379690\/","title":{"rendered":"Bill Belichick shoots down Giants rumors, reaffirms commitment to UNC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chappel Bill will live on.<\/p>\n<p>Bill Belichick reaffirmed his commitment to the University of North Carolina football and shot down any notion that he is interested in working for the Giants after Big Blue <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/11\/10\/sports\/giants-fire-brian-daboll-after-another-awful-meltdown\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fired head coach Brian Daboll this week<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Belichick, who won two Super Bowls with the Giants as a defensive coordinator under Bill Parcells before his legendary six-title run with the Patriots, made his intentions clear in a statement on his Instagram account on Friday night.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have great respect and genuinely care for the New York Giants organization and both the Mara and Tisch families,\u201d he wrote. \u201cThe New York Giants played an important role in my life and in my coaching journey. It was a privilege for me to work for the Mara family and be a member of Coach Parcells staff for over a decade. AP<\/p>\n<p>He last coached in the NFL during the 2023 season before he and the Patriots parted ways after 24 seasons. Belichick wasn\u2019t offered any jobs the following season, and he stayed involved in the game via media gigs, including appearances on ESPN\u2019s \u201cManningCast\u201d during \u201cMonday Night Football.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The 73-year-old is in the middle of what has been an up-and-down season \u2014 his first in the college ranks \u2014 with UNC. His squad is 4-5 after back-to-back wins, but Belichick has generated plenty of headlines in 2025, particularly from off-the-field noise surrounding his relationship with 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, and her presence around him and the program.<\/p>\n<p>In early October, as reports surfaced <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/10\/08\/sports\/bill-belichick-unc-forced-to-make-statement-during-storm-of-negative-press\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">that there were \u201cexit strategy\u201d discussions about Belichick<\/a>, he and the UNC put out statements shooting down the idea that he was ready to leave Chapel Hill.  <\/p>\n<p>This week, when he asked about the topic of an NFL return, Belichick said his sole focus was the Tar Heels\u2019 Saturday opponent, Wake Forest.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, he was firmer in his North Carolina \u201ccommitment.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince arriving in Chapel Hill, my commitment to the UNC Football program has not [wavered],\u201d he continued in his statement. \u201cWe have tremendous support from the university, our alumni, and the entire Carolina community. My focus remains solely on continuing to improve this team, develop our players, and build a program that makes Tar Heel fans proud.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He concluded the statement in the most Belichickian way possible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re on to Wake Forest,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Chappel Bill will live on.
