{"id":380315,"date":"2025-11-15T08:30:13","date_gmt":"2025-11-15T08:30:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/380315\/"},"modified":"2025-11-15T08:30:13","modified_gmt":"2025-11-15T08:30:13","slug":"chelsea-starlet-wont-celebrate-if-he-scores-against-barcelona-have-to-respect-the-clubs-where-youve-played","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/380315\/","title":{"rendered":"Chelsea starlet won&#8217;t celebrate if he scores against Barcelona &#8211; &#8216;Have to respect the clubs where you&#8217;ve played&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chelsea striker Marc Guiu will face FC Barcelona for the first time on Tuesday, 25 November, in the UEFA Champions League match at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n<p>It will be a momentous occasion for the young forward, who will come face-to-face with his boyhood club for the first time ever.<\/p>\n<p>Guiu looking forward to Barcelona clash<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in an interview on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3cat.cat\/esport3\/marc-guiu-lamine-tornara-a-volar-quan-es-recuperi-del-tot-de-la-pubalgia\/noticia\/3380155\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Catalunya Radio<\/a>, Guiu shared his feelings ahead of what will be a very special match for him following his departure from Barcelona in the summer of 2024.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThe match against Bar\u00e7a will be the match of my life. It will be very special,\u201d<\/strong> said Guiu. <\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cI keep in touch with Bar\u00e7a players, with some, yes.\u00a0Mostly with Pau Cubarsi. On the day of the match, I will say something to him to try to make him nervous,\u201d<\/strong> added the former La Masia graduate.<\/p>\n<p>The striker, who made his senior debut for Barcelona under Xavi Hernandez, went on to claim that he would not celebrate if he were to score against his boyhood club at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cIf I score against Bar\u00e7a\u2026 you have to respect the clubs where you have played.\u00a0If I score against Bar\u00e7a, the joy will be immense, but I think I will not celebrate it,\u201d<\/strong> said Guiu.<\/p>\n<p>The Chelsea striker sees the Stamford Bridge match as very open, as he said:<strong> \u201cBar\u00e7a and Chelsea are two incredible teams. I think we arrive a little better than Bar\u00e7a, but they are very good.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Admiration for Lamine Yamal<\/p>\n<p>Guiu played alongside Lamine Yamal in the Barcelona youth academy and the first team, and he is convinced that the 18-year-old wonderkid, dealing with pubalgia, will soon regain his best form.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cLamine is an incredible player. Any player would like to be like him. He has worked hard. He deserves everything that happens to him. When he recovers from the pubalgia, he will fly again,\u201d<\/strong> said Guiu.<\/p>\n<p>Continuing, the Chelsea starlet added: <strong>\u201cIn youth football, he was also flying and playing against people four years older than him. Lamine has always done what he wanted with everyone, with all the rivals. From a very young age, he did what he wanted.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On his Barcelona exit<\/p>\n<p>Guiu also reflected on the circumstances of his departure from Barcelona a year and a half ago.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cI\u2019m playing hard at Chelsea and I think I\u2019m making the most of it.\u00a0When I left Bar\u00e7a, at that time, it was the best option, to leave.\u00a0I\u2019m at Chelsea, for me, right now, the best club in the world,\u201d <\/strong>said Guiu.<\/p>\n<p>Continuing, the Spaniard reflected on how Barcelona wanted him to stay, but manager Hansi Flick <a href=\"https:\/\/barcauniversal.com\/former-barcelona-starlet-aims-subtle-jab-at-hansi-flick-over-2024-exit-the-truth-is-that\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">never really spoke with him<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cBar\u00e7a wanted me to stay. Chelsea\u2019s project was not comparable. Bar\u00e7a gave me the first team but not much more and Chelsea\u2019s project was very good. I didn\u2019t get to speak to Flick before leaving. I would have liked it.
