Each week, we’ll unveil our predictions for the week’s game. Jacksonville (5-4) is in a slide and hosts the Chargers (7-3) on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Kyle Ashley

This year’s record: 5-4.

If there was ever a game for the Jaguars to respond to last week’s collapse, it is this one. This matchup against the Chargers has become the Jaguars biggest game of the season, their chances of making the playoffs almost disappear if they don’t come away with this one. The team has let me down before, but I am choosing to believe that they want nothing more than to get the taste of last week’s loss out of their mouths and will do whatever possible to come away with a win. So, give me the Jaguars to keep the season alive — Jaguars 21, Chargers 20.

Justin Barney

This year’s record: 5-4.

I don’t have much faith in the Jaguars right now. They’re way too erratic all over the field. Trevor Lawrence has been up and down. There’s no pass rush. Everything feels disjointed. But Jacksonville’s M.O. is that it beats teams that it has no business in beating. So, give me the home team in a big-time upset. — Jaguars 23, Chargers 20.

Alessandra Pontbriand

This year’s record: 4-5.

I don’t think this team can just bounce back after last week’s absolute embarrassment and stun the (7-3) Chargers. Head coach Liam Coen disagrees and thinks his team will: “The way that we approach practice and the way that we approach this game is rooted in …’Never again.’ If we can use it as motivation, a learning moment.” The Jaguars are banged up — 15 players were on the injury report this week. Only four players are out: Anton Harrison, Jourdan Lewis, Hunter Long, and Brenton Strange. While Brian Thomas Jr. is questionable. I just don’t think one week with a team that is dealing with so many injuries can bounce back. On a positive note: I think Josh Hines-Allen breaks the franchise sack record Sunday. Justin Herbert has been sacked the third-most times in the league so hopefully that reignites the Jaguars defense. — Chargers 28, Jaguars 13.

Jamal St. Cyr

This year’s record: 5-4.

This is a must win game. A loss on Sunday makes getting to the playoffs a tough hill. This is a beat up football team. The injury bug bit the Jaguars hard. For them to win Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Waler will need to be game breakers. It’s doable since both of the Chargers starting tackles are done for the year. The problem is I don’t believe that is what is going to happen. I expect a continuation of what we have largely seen over the last 4 games. Back in 2022 the Jaguars played the Chargers twice. Everyone remembers the playoff game but during the regular season the Jags beat them 38-10. Well flip it and that is my score prediction for this one. — Chargers 38, Jaguars 10.

Copyright 2025 by WJXT News4JAX – All rights reserved.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jaguars season is back and our News4JAX sports staff is back with its predictions as…

[5136
5229,3188,723,7310,8013,9077,76543,67,586,132,5230,68,2969
0":"post-380387","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-jacksonville","8":"tag-america","9":"tag-fl","10":"tag-florida","11":"tag-jacksonville","12":"tag-jaguars","13":"tag-liam-coen","14":"tag-news4jags","15":"tag-united-states","16":"tag-united-states-of-america","17":"tag-unitedstates","18":"tag-unitedstatesofamerica","19":"tag-us","20":"tag-usa
["GET
