Bill Maher ripped into Republican and Democratic leaders for wasting their time and energy on a \u201cdead pervert\u2019s emails\u201d after reopening the government.<\/p>\n

The comedian was, of course, referring to the Jeffrey Epstein emails<\/a>, which were released by the House Oversight Committee earlier this week \u2014 and seemed to suggest President Donald Trump \u201cknew about the girls\u201d tied to the late financier\u2019s sex trafficking ring.<\/p>\n

Despite this headline-making tidbit, Maher called out D.C. politicians for making this the first order of business after the government was shut down for 43 days.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can get back to the important business of government, reading a dead pervert\u2019s emails. We\u2019re doing this again?\u201d he bemoaned during Friday\u2019s \u201cReal Time With Bill Maher\u201d opening monologue. \u201cI feel like I\u2019ve seen this movie four times \u2026 There\u2019s just always more.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Maher continued, he roasted the way both Democrats and Republicans released emails with no issue this week. \u201cDoes everyone have emails?\u201d he quipped. \u201cWhen you get elected, you\u2019re given your security badge, the key to your office and this is your box of Epstein files. Release them endlessly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maher did highlight one interesting fact from the Epstein drop, sharing that Trump\u2019s name was allegedly mentioned \u201c1,500 times.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTrump doesn\u2019t talk about Trump that much,\u201d Maher joked. \u201cOf course, the president denies this. Let\u2019s be very clear about that, litigation wise. But one of the emails apparently says Trump \u2018knew about the girls.\u2019 See, this is why Hillary [Clinton] destroyed her server with a hammer.\u201d<\/p>\n

All jokes aside, Maher slammed the \u201cridiculous back and forth\u201d over the Epstein emails. \u201cThis is what were going to spend our time on between the parties ,\u201d he added, \u201cto say Trump is either guilty of this or not guilty of this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maher even called out Trump for engaging with the controversy, as the latter instructed the Justice Department to look into former president Bill Clinton\u2019s ties to Epstein.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love this. Using the Epstein files to distract from the Epstein files,\u201d he said. \u201cTrump said, \u2018I will not rest until I get to the middle of this.’\u201d<\/p>\n
