He turns his driveway into unique and detailed scenes with the stroke of a pressure washer.

This year, the patriotic scene is just in time for the Fourth of July holiday. Burkett said he has planned this design for three years.

The driveway art shows the Statue of Liberty and the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels streaking across the sky.

Pressure-washing art shows patriotic scene. Photo: Ron Burkett.

He then used Photoshop to edit drone images of himself appearing to hang from a spike on the Statue of Liberty’s crown.

The first scene was a mountain scene inspired by his trip to the Rocky Mountains. The second was a nativity scene.

Burkett said he carefully plans every detail of the scene before ever bringing out his pressure washer. He first uses his drone to take a snapshot of the driveway. Then he makes reference points and sketches rough areas with sidewalk chalk.

Once he begins pressure-washing, Burkett said even the slightest mistake could ruin the process.

The latest creation took Burkett approximately 20 hours spread over six days.

Although Burkett said the scene is only visible from the sky, people don’t have to fly over to enjoy his work. He has posted drone videos of all three scenes on his YouTube channel.

Burkett can now plan for his next masterpiece, although he said it will be a while. He will eventually pressure-wash the entire driveway to make a clean canvas. Then he will have to wait.

“I have to wait for my driveway to get dirty each time,” Burkett said. “It’ll be about three years before it’ll be dirty enough to do anything else.”

In the meantime, he hopes his patriotism inspires others.

“Maybe we can just be a country again,” Burkett said. “I want people to think of looking at the country and the politics from a higher point of view. If we get out of the minutia of all the media and just look at our country from a higher point of view, just step away and look at what we’ve done, maybe we could all come together as a country and appreciate what we have.”

To connect with the author of this story or to comment, email [email protected].

Don’t miss out! Subscribe to our newsletter and get our top stories every weekday morning or become a member to gain access to exclusive content and 1819 News merch.

For the third time in five years, a Trussville man has created an artful masterpiece that can only…

[32
30936,648,1032,1033,30939,171,30937,30938,67,132,68
0":"post-38354","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-arts-and-design","8":"tag-alabama-news","9":"tag-arts","10":"tag-arts-and-design","11":"tag-design","12":"tag-driveway-art","13":"tag-entertainment","14":"tag-pressure-washing-art","15":"tag-ron-burkett","16":"tag-united-states","17":"tag-unitedstates","18":"tag-us
["GET
