New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd, 29, was shot early Sunday morning and is in critical but stable condition in the hospital, police told ESPN<\/a> and other news outlets.<\/p>\n

A New York Police Department spokesperson told ESPN the shooting happened around 2 a.m. at the Sei Less restaurant on West 38th Street in New York City. Sources told the New York Post that Boyd was shot after a dispute turned violent. <\/p>\n

The gunman fired two shots, then fled the scene, according to the New York Post\u2019s sources<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Boyd was transported to Manhattan\u2019s Bellevue Hospital by EMS, police told ESPN. No arrests have been made in the shooting, police told the New York Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A Jets spokesperson told ESPN and other news outlets the team was aware of the situation but had no further comment. <\/p>\n

Boyd joined the Jets after a tenure with the Minnesota Vikings and stints with the Arizona Cardinals and the Houston Texans. <\/p>\n

The Jets played Thursday Night Football this week, losing to the New England Patriots 27-14 in Foxboro, Massachusetts. Their next game is Nov. 23. <\/p>\n
