That was until a phantom defensive pass interference call <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/11\/17\/sports\/eagles-escape-lions-after-controversial-pass-interference-call\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">essentially ended the game<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>After the game, crew chief Alex Kemp was made available to a pool reporter to discuss the controversy.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.79020979;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"37687129\" width=\"1024\" height=\"572\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/pass-interference.png\" alt=\"Two American football players, one in white and green, the other in white and blue, are on a green field.\" class=\"wp-image-37687129\"  \/>AJ Brown extends on Lions corner Rock Ya-Sin.  NBC Sports<\/p>\n<p>The explanation will not placate Lions fans, with even broadcaster Cris Collinsworth calling the flag \u201cabsolutely terrible\u201d in the moment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe official observed the receiver\u2019s arm getting grabbed and restricting him from going up to make the catch,\u201d Kemp said. \u201cSo, the ball was in the air, there was a grab at the arm, restricted him, and he called defensive pass interference.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kemp was not the referee who made the call that infuriated fans; that honor goes to field judge Lo Van Pham. <\/p>\n<p>Lions corner Rock Ya-Sin pointed at Pham with a big smile as soon as the flag was thrown on a ball that was borderline uncatchable. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/dan-campbell-on-pass-interference-i-wouldnt-tell-rock-ya-sin-to-do-anything-differently\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/dan-campbell-on-pass-interference-i-wouldnt-tell-rock-ya-sin-to-do-anything-differently\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><\/p>\n<p>Some had argued that the call should have been offensive pass interference on receiver AJ Brown, who was jostling for position just as hard as Ya-Sin on the play. <\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"37687131\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/nfl-officiating.jpg\" alt=\"A referee wearing a baseball cap with a camera and a microphone headset.\" class=\"wp-image-37687131\"  \/>Side Judge Lo van Pham embarrassed himself with a terrible defensive pass interference call.
