CHICAGO (WLS) — Over the decades, thousands have made their way to the “Home Alone” house.<\/a><\/p>\n

The 1990 classic, starring McCauley Caulkin forever changed 671 Lincoln Avenue<\/a> in Winnetka.<\/p>\n

35 years later, the original owner of the Winnetka home is sharing all his stories in a new memoir.<\/p>\n

John Abendshein wrote “Home, But Alone No More.”<\/p>\n

In the book, he shares the story of living in the house as crews filmed the iconic Christmas movie.<\/p>\n

“We had a large master bedroom suite that we converted into an apartment,” he said. “As long as we kept out of the camera eye…we were free to roam and watch scenes as they were being filmed.”<\/p>\n

In his memoir, Abendshein explains the rollercoaster of emotions of living in the house amid the aftermath of the movie.<\/p>\n

“Bottom line, my feelings today: I have serendipitously been given a gift, and I want to share the gift,” he said.<\/p>\n
