{"id":386315,"date":"2025-11-17T23:53:20","date_gmt":"2025-11-17T23:53:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/386315\/"},"modified":"2025-11-17T23:53:20","modified_gmt":"2025-11-17T23:53:20","slug":"unfs-10-year-master-plan-gets-green-light-for-campus-wide-upgrades-new-buildings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/386315\/","title":{"rendered":"UNF\u2019s 10-year master plan gets green light for campus-wide upgrades, new buildings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>JACKSONVILLE, Fla.<\/strong> \u2013 Now that the 2025\u20132035 Campus Master Plan has been passed, the University of North Florida will undergo comprehensive, campus-wide upgrades.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">On Monday, the university announced that the Board of Trustees unanimously passed the 10-year plan that outlined the extensive vision that would transform campus life.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cThis plan is more than a roadmap for facilities, it is a blueprint for the future of the University community,\u201d said President Moez Limayem. \u201cIt is the product of thoughtful collaboration with students, faculty, staff, alumni and community stakeholders, and it positions UNF to thrive in the decade to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">For more than a year, UNF engaged students, faculty, staff, and community members in conversations to help shape the campus\u2019s future. Those discussions identified the university\u2019s needs, explored possible scenarios, and built consensus around planned improvements.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The plan includes:<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.news4jax.com\/news\/local\/2025\/07\/30\/unf-10-year-master-plan-draft-suggests-adding-football-field-greek-village-to-campus-will-add-energy-students-say\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.news4jax.com\/news\/local\/2025\/07\/30\/unf-10-year-master-plan-draft-suggests-adding-football-field-greek-village-to-campus-will-add-energy-students-say\/\">VIEW THE MASTER PLAN<\/a><\/p>\n<ul class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 kDvXdO font_openSans articleList\">\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\">\n<p>\u00a0<b>New Academic Buildings\u00a0<\/b>&#8211; Several new academic buildings are proposed to accommodate the\u00a0additional\u00a0classes and faculty that will be associated with projected enrollment growth including the Student Success Center, Behavioral Sciences Building, and John E. Mathews Jr. Computer Science Building addition.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\">\n<p><b>New Research Buildings<\/b>\u00a0&#8211; A mixed-use research building is proposed on the edge of the existing Amphitheater, while\u00a0a new innovation\u00a0district at the southern edge of campus would include\u00a0additional\u00a0research and partnership space.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\">\n<p><b>Student Housing<\/b>\u00a0&#8211; New residence halls would allow 25% of future students to live on campus with more dense new housing that provides in-demand amenities.
