{"id":386403,"date":"2025-11-18T00:42:21","date_gmt":"2025-11-18T00:42:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/386403\/"},"modified":"2025-11-18T00:42:21","modified_gmt":"2025-11-18T00:42:21","slug":"sense-and-sensibility-lands-september-2026-release","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/386403\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Sense and Sensibility&#8217; Lands September 2026 Release"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tFilmmaker Georgia Oakley\u2019s big screen adaptation of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/jane-austen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jane Austen<\/a>\u2019s classic novel\u00a0Sense and Sensibility\u00a0\u2014 starring\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/daisy-edgar-jones\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daisy Edgar-Jones<\/a>\u00a0as one of the Dashwood sisters \u2014 has landed a prime fall film festival release date.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe movie will open in the U.S. on Sept. 11, 2026 and in the U.K. on Sept. 26, just as awards season kicks off. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/focus-fea\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Focus Features<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/working-title-films\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Working Title Films<\/a>, which are backing Oakley\u2019s fresh take on the iconic novel, announced the news Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/daisy-edgar-jones-new-sense-and-sensibility-movie-1236299143\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oakley is directing Sense and Sensibility <\/a>from a script by author Diana Reid. The story\u00a0centers on the impoverished Dashwood family, and portrays the romantic experiences of sisters Elinor and Marianne as they and their widowed mother navigate life for the once-wealthy family after the death of the father and husband.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tEdgar-Jones will play the role of Elinor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tFocus and Working Title also collaborated on the 2005 adaptation of Austen\u2019s classic novel Pride &amp; Prejudice, which earned four Oscar nominations, and the 2020 adaptation of the legendary author\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/emma\/\" id=\"auto-tag_emma_1\" data-tag=\"emma\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Emma<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tFocus has worldwide rights to Sense and Sensibility, and will distribute the film domestically.
