{"id":386504,"date":"2025-11-18T01:46:12","date_gmt":"2025-11-18T01:46:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/386504\/"},"modified":"2025-11-18T01:46:12","modified_gmt":"2025-11-18T01:46:12","slug":"xavi-to-support-victor-font-in-barcelonas-president-elections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/386504\/","title":{"rendered":"Xavi to support Victor Font in Barcelona\u2019s president elections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Barcelona will hold <a href=\"https:\/\/www.barcablaugranes.com\/2025\/5\/16\/24431369\/joan-laporta-confirms-plan-to-run-for-re-election-after-barcelona-win-la-liga\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">presidential elections<\/a> later this year and former manager and club legend Xavi appears to be in favor of Joan Laporta\u2019s rival Victor Font.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Diario AS report that Xavi was at the launch of the cross-party project led by V\u00edctor Font on Monday, in a move which has set tongues wagging in the city.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.barcablaugranes.com\/2024\/5\/27\/24164991\/xavi-becomes-the-latest-victim-of-joan-laportas-same-old-tricks-at-barcelona\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Xavi had a painful end to his time<\/a> in charge of Barca under Laporta. The boss initially announced his departure in the January, was convinced to stay on by Laporta and was then sacked anyway.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Laporta has spoken about the elections recently amid speculation they could be held at the end of March.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cI\u2019m not thinking about the elections right now. The season has just started and we\u2019re in the thick of it.
