While it’s true that you can currently watch the new Superman movie on HBO Max<\/a> at your leisure, there’s no guarantee it will be available to stream forever. And more importantly, unless you have the most expensive HBO Max subscription available, you won’t be able to stream it in 4K <\/a>at all. Which is probably why Warner Bros. has made sure the 4K tier isn’t included with the Disney, Hulu, HBO Max bundle. Fortunately, the physical media route is always available to those who need it!<\/p>\n

If you loved Superman and want to grab the film for your own collection, or as a gift, right now is actually a great time to do so. Amazon has recently dropped the price of both the 4K and Blu-ray versions of the film to a new low ahead of Black Friday.<\/p>\n

Alongside the standard editions, there was also a limited-edition Superman steelbook released back in September. Unfortunately, that is now out of stock pretty much everywhere<\/a> except third-party sellers. If you don’t mind the standard 4K and Blu-ray versions of the film, however, you can get a pretty good deal right now. The price of the 4K edition has dropped down to $27.99 (a new low price<\/a>) and the Blu-ray edition is now down to $23.49. While neither of these versions come with a cool steelbook case, they do include bonus features and a digital copy of the movie.<\/p>\n

Director and DCU maestro James Gunn throws a lot at us here and trusts that decades of practice watching superhero movies will carry us through any storytelling corners he\u2019s cutting in favor of keeping the pace brisk and the fun abundant. It\u2019s a dense and at times overwhelming adventure, but it feels like the right one for the moment.” – Tom Jorgensen<\/a><\/p>\n

Should you wait for a better Black Friday deal?<\/p>\n

Although this is the lowest price we’ve ever seen for physical editions of this movie, it’s worth noting that Amazon is kicking off its Black Friday sale<\/a> later this week. That means that while this is currently a good price on Superman, it’s possible there will be an even better price later this week. Amazon hasn’t released any sort of information about what movie deals to expect, but Black Friday has traditionally been the best time of the year to buy Blu-rays<\/a> in general.<\/p>\n

With that in mind, you may want to wait until Amazon’s sale officially starts before picking up your copy of this movie. There’s no guarantee that the price will drop further, but based on some of the deals we’ve seen in the past it definitely seems likely. Amazon also has a tendency to offer some sort of “3 for 2” sale on 4K movies around sales events that could save you even more money.<\/p>\n
