They’ll surprise you every time! Just take a look at the incredibly sweet way that three donkeys ran towards each other in a video that’s gone viral online. They’d been separated for a long time. It would make sense to believe they didn’t remember each other. But that couldn’t be farther from the truth, as the video adorably shows.

Isn’t this the absolute sweetest? The time apart hadn’t changed how these three donkeys felt about each other. They were so excited to see each other, despite the distance.

The animals had the reunion of a lifetime after all three were bought by Grace Vaughn and her family. It’s not clear how long they’d been apart from each other, but it seems like it had been quite some time.

Related: Donkey Hurrying to Hear Neighbor Boy Practice His Trombone Is Too Sweet to Resist

As soon as they saw each other, the animals took off running. They had so much to catch up on! You can just tell there was a gabfest that was about to happen. These are three gossipy donkeys, I can tell.

“The way they RAN towards each other had me crying,” Vaughn wrote in the video’s caption.

It really goes to show that all it takes is one person to step up to completely change an animal’s life. Or in this case, change three animals’ lives. Which is why people in the comments section were so deeply touched.

“Thank you for doing that,” wrote one person.

“The gang’s back together,” chimed in another commenter.

“I’m going to need weekly reports on them now,” joked one person.

“Doing God’s work,” one commenter praised.

Vaughn later released another video of her adorable donks online, which showed the animals still getting used to their new home!

Donkeys Are Social

If you’ve ever raised donkeys before, then you know that these guys are friendly! Donkeys are social animals, who need to be around others to be happy. In fact, they can get downright depressed if they’re left alone. It makes total sense that they remember each other. A donkey is a friend for life.

🐶SIGN UP to get “pawsitivity” delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾🐾

This story was originally reported by PetHelpful on Nov 17, 2025, where it first appeared in the Pet News section.
