New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd was critically wounded in a shooting in New York City on Sunday morning after an incident outside of a restaurant in Manhattan. He remained hospitalized on Monday with a bullet lodged in his lung, according to ABC News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He is still listed in critical but stable condition. Boyd told police on Monday that he was at Sei Less on Saturday night with friends, and that they got into a “scuffle” outside of the restaurant after it closed around 2 a.m. ET.<\/p>\n

An investigation is still ongoing, and police are looking for a man who was spotted leaving the scene on foot. Specifics about the incident, and what led up to the shooting, are still unknown.<\/p>\n

Boyd has since undergone multiple procedures since he arrived at the hospital, per the report. He was shot in the abdomen, and a bullet is lodged in his lung.<\/p>\n

“We are aware of the situation involving Kris Boyd and will have no further comment at this time,” the Jets said in a statement on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Boyd signed a one-year, $1.6 million deal with the Jets this offseason after two seasons with the Houston Texans. He was placed on injured reserve<\/a> in August with a shoulder injury, however, and has not played since.<\/p>\n

Jets linebacker Jermaine Johnson II took to social media<\/a> on Sunday morning to share a prayer for Boyd.<\/p>\n

The Jets did not play on Sunday. They fell to the New England Patriots<\/a> in Massachusetts on Thursday night, which dropped them to 2-8 on the season.
