Starring Catherine Laga\u2018aia as the titular character, the teaser showcases her stunning vocals and clips of her journey to save her island and people.<\/p>\n<p>Same as the original 2016 animated movie, <a href=\"https:\/\/hypebeast.com\/tags\/dwayne-johnson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dwayne Johnson<\/a> will return to play the demigod Maui, who is crucial in assisting Moana on her adventurous sea voyage. While Johnson returns, the role of Moana will be played by newcomer Laga\u2019aia, taking over from Auli\u2019i Cravalho, the original voice actor. The rest of the cast also includes John Tui as Moana\u2019s father, Chief Tui; Frankie Adams as Moana\u2019s mother, Sina; and Rena Owen as Gramma Tala.\n<\/p>\n<p>First announced in April 2023, the live-action Moana will arrive in theaters on July 10, 2026.
