LONDON \u2014 European bourses opened lower on Tuesday as global markets pull back on renewed concerns over AI-linked stocks.<\/p>\n
The pan-European Stoxx 600<\/a> was trading almost 1.2% lower shortly after the opening bell on Tuesday.<\/p>\n The U.K.’s FTSE<\/a> index was 1% lower by 8:06 a.m. in London (3:06 a.m. in ET) with Germany’s DAX<\/a> sliding 1.34% and France’s CAC 40<\/a>\u00a0down 1.32%, as Italy’s FTSE MIB<\/a> fell 1.44% in early trade.<\/p>\n Europe’s regional markets followed their global counterparts into the red after tech losses dragged Wall Street lower on Monday with the three major U.S. indexes closing in the red; the 30-stock\u00a0Dow Jones Industrial Average<\/a>\u00a0plunged more than 550 points, or 1.2%, while the\u00a0S&P 500<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Nasdaq Composite<\/a>\u00a0each lost around 0.9%.<\/p>\n Amundi<\/a> saw its share price fall 2.4% in early trade. The French investment management giant said Tuesday it is expanding its private markets presence by taking a nearly 10% stake in global private equity and alternative asset manager Intermediate Capital Group<\/a>.<\/p>\n Novo Nordisk<\/a> was down 1.3% in morning trade, after the Danish drugmaker said it would bring forward a plan to cut the monthly price of its obesity shot<\/a> Wegovy in the U.S. from $499 to $349. The price reduction had been scheduled to begin in January under an earlier agreement with U.S. President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n Investors stateside are awaiting\u00a0delayed jobs data this week as well as Nvidia<\/a>‘s latest earnings report, due Wednesday.<\/p>\n The chipmaker, whose stock declined 2% yesterday, has been at the center of a debate about the strength of the artificial intelligence-powered market rally this year.<\/p>\n Concerns have grown about weak market breadth, pricey tech valuations and the soundness of AI fundamentals due to a boom in Big Tech debt offerings and the\u00a0pace of AI chip depreciation<\/a>.<\/p>\n Asia-Pacific markets<\/a> fell overnight while U.S. stock futures<\/a> were little changed.<\/p>\n In Europe on Tuesday, earnings come from Siemens Energy and Imperial Brands.
