The first full clip from Avatar 3<\/strong>, aka Avatar: Fire and Ash<\/strong>, has been released, featuring a heart-pounding chase that introduces the franchise\u2019s first major Na\u2019vi villains. The sequel will release in theaters on December 19, three years after The Way of Water became a global box office juggernaut.<\/p>\n

Varang and the Ash People hunt the Sullys in Avatar: Fire and Ash first full clip<\/p>\n

The Avatar 3 first full clip<\/a> offers a direct look at the Ash People in action. In the clip, Varang and her tribe track Jake and Neytiri\u2019s children through Pandora\u2019s jungles. Once the hunters spot them, they unleash an eerie shriek and charge forward at high speed. Lo\u2019ak (Britain Dalton) urges his siblings to move, warning, \u201cThey\u2019re coming,\u201d before leading Kiri, Tuktirey (Trinity Jo-Li Bliss), and Spider into the waters below. As they swim for safety, Lo\u2019ak reassures his siblings and encourages them to repeat the Sully motto: \u201cSullys never quit.\u201d<\/p>\n

The clip makes it clear that Fire and Ash places the Sully family in direct fight with a Na\u2019vi tribe for the first time. While previous films centered largely on human antagonists \u2014 aside from Quaritch\u2019s Na\u2019vi form in The Way of Water \u2014 Varang and the Ash People is a major change in the franchise\u2019s dynamic.<\/p>\n

The death of Neteyam (Jamie Flatters) in The Way of Water established that the younger generation is not insulated from danger, and the new video reinforces that Lo\u2019ak, Kiri, Tuk, and Spider face real-life-or-death stakes. With two more Avatar films planned, nothing guarantees their survival.<\/p>\n

Fire and Ash also elevates the roles of Jake and Neytiri\u2019s children. Lo\u2019ak takes over narration duties from Jake, a storytelling change that supports his growing importance. Spider continues grappling with his human identity and his connection to Quaritch. Marketing materials have reportedly even shown him breathing Pandoran air without a mask, which is impossible for humans. Meanwhile, Kiri\u2019s deep spiritual bond with Pandora and Eywa is poised to expand further, potentially making her one of the main characters of the sequel.<\/p>\n
