{"id":387735,"date":"2025-11-18T14:27:19","date_gmt":"2025-11-18T14:27:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/387735\/"},"modified":"2025-11-18T14:27:19","modified_gmt":"2025-11-18T14:27:19","slug":"san-antonio-home-sales-see-significant-dip-in-october","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/387735\/","title":{"rendered":"San Antonio home sales see significant dip in October"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sign up for <a href=\"https:\/\/support.tpr.org\/a\/tpr-newsletter-signup?_gl=1*1qdmxfl*_ga*MjI5ODI0MTQ5LjE2NDUxMjA0MTM.*_ga_0B2CYK6231*czE3NjI1NTQ2ODUkbzM0NDMkZzEkdDE3NjI1NTQ2OTIkajUzJGwwJGgw\" class=\"Link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">TPR Today<\/a>, Texas Public Radio&#8217;s newsletter that brings our top stories to your inbox each morning.<\/p>\n<p>Alamo City area home sales were down by 11% this October, compared to the same month last year, according to the San Antonio Board of Realtors (SABOR).<\/p>\n<p>And while sales are down and there are more homes for buyers to choose from, buyers should not expect big price cuts.<\/p>\n<p>SABOR reports 92% of sellers are still getting their original asking price.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOctober\u2019s numbers show that the San Antonio market remains healthy and well-balanced,\u201d said Ed Zapata, SABOR\u2019s Chair of the Board. \u201cWhile sales have slowed, steady pricing and strong inventory levels give both buyers and sellers more flexibility.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And in another positive sign for sellers, median home prices remain steady compared to October 2024\u2014 around $305,000.<\/p>\n<p>Homes are remaining on the market an average of 83 days before they sell, according to the board.<\/p>\n<p>The lion&#8217;s share of home sales\u2014around 65%\u2014involved homes priced between $200,000 and $499,000.<\/p>\n<p>Statewide, SABOR reports sales are mixed with some seeing more activity than others.  They say the Texas housing market as a whole is undergoing a period of adjustment after several years of rapid expansion.<\/p>\n<p>The National Association of Realtors reports it expects home sales across the country to rise 14% in 2026, compared to this year.
