{"id":387745,"date":"2025-11-18T14:33:13","date_gmt":"2025-11-18T14:33:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/387745\/"},"modified":"2025-11-18T14:33:13","modified_gmt":"2025-11-18T14:33:13","slug":"storm-system-could-cause-flooding-in-parts-of-valley","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/387745\/","title":{"rendered":"Storm system could cause flooding in parts of Valley"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX \u2013 A storm system arrived in metro Phoenix early Tuesday, producing moderate to heavy rainfall with the potential for flooding in the West Valley.<\/p>\n<p>The precipitation left some roadways wet as commuters started heading to work.<\/p>\n<p>The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/partnerservices.nws.noaa.gov\/products\/cache\/322-2025\/FLSPSR\/9c33eb73897e8ec290ca6a7a614a4482\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">flood advisory<\/a> for western Maricopa County after half an inch of rain fell overnight and another half to 1 inch was expected throughout the morning. <\/p>\n<p>The advisory covers a portion of the West Valley that includes Surprise, Buckeye, Wickenburg, Circle City, Wittmann and Morristown. It was scheduled to expire at 8 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, NWS activated a <a href=\"https:\/\/partnerservices.nws.noaa.gov\/products\/cache\/322-2025\/FFWPSR\/df4b93918aa1c8de807ebfeaccd40d73\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">flash flood warning<\/a> for an area that includes the Palo Verde Nuclear Generation Station, Wintersburg and Painted Rock Dam. It also was set to expire at 8 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\/safety\/flood-watch-warning\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NWS issues<\/a> advisories when minor flooding is expected or happening.
