{"id":388052,"date":"2025-11-18T17:43:12","date_gmt":"2025-11-18T17:43:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/388052\/"},"modified":"2025-11-18T17:43:12","modified_gmt":"2025-11-18T17:43:12","slug":"kodai-senga-extremely-available-for-trade-as-mets-look-to-fix-rotation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/388052\/","title":{"rendered":"Kodai Senga &#8216;extremely available&#8217; for trade as Mets look to fix rotation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As the Mets look to revamp their starting rotation after disappointingly missing the playoffs, they\u2019re prepared to part with one of its current key cogs.<\/p>\n<p>Right-hander Kodai Senga <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/story\/_\/id\/46999006\/mlb-2025-26-offseason-passan-predictions-free-agency-kyle-tucker-schwarber-alex-bregman\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">is \u201cextremely available,\u201d<\/a> ESPN\u2019s Jeff Passan reported Tuesday, adding that multiple executives anticipate the Mets trading the 32-year-old this offseason.<\/p>\n<p>While Senga \u2014 who has two years left on a five-year, $75 million contract \u2014 has impressed when healthy, injuries have held him back.<\/p>\n<p>After a dazzling rookie campaign in 2023 in which he earned an All-Star nod while recording a 2.98 ERA with 202 strikeouts in 29 starts, he made just one regular-season appearance in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Senga suffered a shoulder injury in spring training that year, and when he made his season debut on July 26, he strained his calf running off the mound during a popup.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.43618513;display:block\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"37698104\" width=\"847\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/08-14-25-atlanta-braves-109608964.jpg\" alt=\"Kodai Senga\" class=\"wp-image-37698104\"  \/>Kodai Senga Charles Wenzelberg\/New York Post<\/p>\n<p>He was thought to be done for the season but ended up returning for Game 1 of the NLDS and made three playoff appearances, giving up seven runs across five innings.<\/p>\n<p>Senga was spectacular again to begin 2025, posting a 1.47 ERA  through his first 13 starts before he injured his hamstring falling on first base while catching a throw from Pete Alonso.
