Said doctor recommended that the Emmy nominee &#8220;immediately&#8221; go to the hospital to get checked out, according to the outlet.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_7-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> Schreiber, 58, was held overnight and underwent several tests. I thought it was maybe a fast food headache, but it felt a little stronger than that. I&#8217;m walking down the stairs and I&#8217;m thinking, &#8216;This is not normal. Things only got worse when he went on stage and completely forgot his lines.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_20-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> &#8220;It all vanishes. The play is gone from my head &#8230; I know I&#8217;m in a play but I don&#8217;t know what play I&#8217;m in,&#8221; Schreiber remembered. &#8220;My doctor, who&#8217;s a friend, shows up and he had a terrified expression. My wife shows up, she looks terrified. I think, &#8216;Okay, I&#8217;ve had a stroke. This is it.'&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_24-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> Luckily, an MRI showed that his brain looked &#8220;perfectly fine,&#8221; and that there was no brain bleed. A neurologist explained to the actor that he had a condition called transient global amnesia.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_26-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> &#8220;Apparently it&#8217;s brought on by migraines and rigorous coitus,&#8221; Schreiber shared. &#8220;The guy said, &#8216;You&#8217;ll never have this again and it&#8217;ll be gone in eight to 24 hours,&#8217; which I didn&#8217;t believe. You know, as a typical sort of Jewish hypochondriac person, I&#8217;m convinced that I had a stroke and they just didn&#8217;t find it.&#8221;\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_28-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> However, the doctor was proven to be right. &#8220;I go to sleep, I wake up, I remember the whole play,&#8221; Schreiber added. &#8220;I never had another problem with it. I was embarrassed and thought everyone would think I was lying and taking a night off from the theater.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_32-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> According to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/my.clevelandclinic.org\/health\/diseases\/21028-transient-global-amnesia\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cleveland Clinic<\/a>, Transient global amnesia (TGA) is a rare medical condition in which an individual experiences a sudden episode of memory loss and confusion. Triggers of the condition include migraines, physical exertion, sexual intercourse, emotional or psychological stress and sudden immersion in cold or hot water.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_34-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> TGA is most common in people of middle or older age, and it will resolve itself within 24 hours.
