Several environmental organizations filed a lawsuit Tuesday against the state\u2019s Department of Environmental Conservation over a proposed natural gas pipeline.<\/p>\n

The Northeast Supply Enhancement Project would run beneath New York harbor to New Jersey.<\/p>\n

The project has been rejected by the state twice until this year, when Gov. Kathy Hochul approved the pipeline following talks with President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

The move has sparked outrage by many environmental groups, including the Natural Resources Defense Council \u2014 one of the groups taking legal action.<\/p>\n

The lawsuit argues that the pipeline project poses significant risks to water quality.<\/p>\n

Mark Izeman, a senior strategist at the NRDC, joined \u201cInside City Hall\u201d to discuss the project and lawsuit.<\/p>\n
