WEST NOTTINGHAM \u2014 Herr Foods\u2019 Flavored by Philly campaign is back \u2014 but with a twist this year.<\/p>\n
Since 2021, the Chester County-based Herr Foods has been asking customers to choose the winning chip flavor that best captures the \u201cflavor\u201d of the Philadelphia region.<\/p>\n
This year, in honor of America\u2019s 250th birthday \u2014 Herr\u2019s is celebrating the flavors of Freedom, Liberty, and Unity that define both Philadelphia and the nation with Flavored by Philly: Taste the 250, according to a press release announcing the contest.<\/p>\n
\u201cPhiladelphia has always been at the heart of Herr\u2019s story,\u201d Ed Herr, executive chairman of the board, said in a statement. \u201cFlavored by Philly: Taste the 250 is our way of honoring the city that continues to inspire our flavors and our fans.\u201d<\/p>\n
The twist this year?<\/p>\n
Instead of having fans submit new flavor ideas, they will instead be selecting a winner from a curated lineup of flavors inspired by the American ideals of \u201cFreedom, Liberty, and Unity,\u201d the company said. Fans will decide which flavor best embodies the \u201cheart of the American story,\u201d the release stated.<\/p>\n
Within each category \u2014 Freedom, Liberty, and Unity \u2014 customers have a choice of three flavors.<\/p>\n
In the Freedom category \u2014 the options feature cheese: Freedom Loaded Cheese Fries, Freedom Cheesy Crab Dip, and Freedom Cheesy Bread.<\/p>\n
In the Liberty category \u2014 the options are bold and smoky: Liberty Roasted Garlic BBQ, Liberty Hickory BBQ, and Liberty Hot Honey BBQ.<\/p>\n
In the United category \u2014 the options are combination flavors: United Jalapeno Cream Cheese; United Lemon Pepper, and United Mango Habanero.<\/p>\n
