So, today, we’re looking at just rainy weather,” Chris Kuhlman of the National Weather Service (NWS) in Phoenix told KTAR News 92.3 FM on Wednesday morning.

The storms have the potential to produce intermittent showers throughout the day and potentially into Thursday morning.

Kuhlman said Wednesday’s rainfall totals are expected to range from 0.5 inches to 1 inch in much of the area, with higher amounts possible where thunderstorms develop.

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, which the NWS uses for the city’s official readings, received nearly 0.2 inches from Tuesday morning through 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Maricopa County flood watch issued after rainy Tuesday

With the ground saturated from Tuesday’s activity, the NWS issued a flood watch for northern Maricopa County and areas further north, including Prescott.
